Curating an eclectic group of Portland creatives, Spoken For will primarily showcase non-traditional goods, services and inspiration for Portlanders who are planning their union, wedding or party. This event is intended for couples who yearn for something a little different, and who value local businesses that can remain part of their lives long after the party is over. Spoken For also hopes to unite local wedding industry veterans with like-minded artists and shop-keepers, facilitating a diverse and ever-growing wedding community. Oh, and it'll be FUN!
Spoken For was created by Chelsea Howard, a bride-to-be whose love for Portland and its many artists and shops led her to call Portland her home over three years ago. She has teamed up with Hannah and Kelty of The Weaver House, local twins whose business encompasses photography, graphic & web design as well as a vintage & handmade shop online.
WHAT TO EXPECT AT SPOKEN FOR
WHAT TO EXPECT AT SPOKEN FOR
- A rustic, lofty urban setting (think concrete floors, high ceilings, wood beams and natural light)
- Artists and shop-keepers arranged casually throughout the space (no stuffy booths allowed)
- Music and a variety of food trucks in the street (big garage doors will connect the inside & out)
- Food & drink tastings inside, inspirational displays & art, lounge areas, pop-up shoppes, vendors to meet & greet
- One heck of a lovely afternoon for anyone who enjoys and values local food, art, music and goods (you need not be engaged to come by!)

THE CHARITY
Adorned in Grace is a local shop that sells wedding gowns, formal dresses, shoes and accessories. But it's no ordinary shop, as not only have all the new & used goods been donated, but all proceeds go toward a very important cause: raising awareness and supporting victims of sex trafficking. They've also begun an outreach program to at-risk girls in low-income neighborhoods, offering design and sewing workshops. They hope that the donated formal wear and accessories can be used to inspire young girls to dream, design, create and develop skills to enrich their lives.
Over $35,000 was raised in the shop's first year, and we hope to help by donating a portion of the Spoken For proceeds to this noble cause. Adorned in Grace will have a spot front and center at Spoken For, so keep an eye out for your chance to donate. In the meantime, please visit Adorned in Grace's blog where you can learn about ways to further support their mission!
